The municipality of Miháld is located in the valley of the Dola-brook 20 km away from Nagykanizsa. The wine-hill with chestnut trees is a favoured excursion site. If you leave the municipality towards Pat, you will encounter a picturesque fishing lake. Do not leave your fishing rod at home, as the 6.1 hectares lake is free to use for all. In the general store of the municipality you can obtain your daily ticket. There are carps, grass carps, pikes, zanders, catfish, breams, Crucian carps, asps, perches and eels in the lake.
On the lakeshore you can camp, do sports and cook.
Once you are in the municipality, you should know that manufacturing local products has long traditions in Miháld. Local inhabitants deal with beekeeping, winery, as well as making juices and jams. Those wishing to taste local specialties should visit Mrs. Katalin Farkas (59 Fő Str.), or Mrs. Ildikó Bátori (21 Kossuth Str.), who manufacture jams and juices using special recipes. At the beginning of the summer you should visit Miklós Mándó (99 Fő Str.) to taste delicious strawberries.
